EDF EN announces the completion of a new solar farm in New Jersey

Escondido, CA. - enXco, an EDF EN Company, announces the completion of development and construction of the 143 kW solar project located on the grounds of the Black River Farm equestrian training facility in Ringoes, New Jersey in Hunterdon County. The project consists of a combination of 63 kW roof mounted and 80 kW ground mounted Evergreen Solar PV panels. Additionally, it features Sunflow Monitor, a web-based monitoring system provided by Noveda Technologies. The solar project will generate electricity for the farm on a net metering basis. enXco serves as the owner, financier, and co-developer. Atlantic Solar Assets, a subsidiary of Clean Energy Holdings co-developed the project with Vanguard Energy Partners, LLC / New Jersey Solar Solutions as installer.
The Black River Farm Solar Project marks the commencement of solar development for enXco in the New Jersey market. David Kirkpatrick, enXco's Director of New Business Development, stated "enXco's solar development team is very pleased with the work done by Vanguard Energy Partners, LLC / NJ Solar Solutions and Atlantic Solar Assets. Amy Jorgenson, President of Black River Farm, said "When planning construction of the new barn at our training center we wanted to look at the economic feasibility of renewable energy. We quickly became satisfied that this was a good way to protect us against the uncertainty of rising energy costs. It helps with our long-range business planning to know that before too many years this system will pay for itself and provide us with free electricity for many years after that."
New Jersey's Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) requires that 22.5% of the state's electricity will come from renewable sources by 2021. Solar energy represents 2.12% of the total requirement – a goal that represents the nation's largest solar commitment relative to population and electricity consumption.
