Canadian Solar Signs 9MW Sales Agreement with Conergy USA

JIANGSU and JIANGXI, China, July 15 Canadian Solar Inc. today announced a 9MW sales agreement for its e-Modules with Conergy USA, a global leader in renewable energy solutions. The contract runs for 12 months until June 2009 and delivery will start this month.

Kim McLawhorn, President of Conergy Americas commented, "We are pleased to offer CSI's e-Modules for our off-grid and grid-connected installations of photovoltaic systems. Dr. Shawn Qu, CEO of CSI, said, "We are very pleased to announce this relationship with Conergy. This contract serves as a testament to the quality of our e-Module technology, and the strong demand we are seeing in the market place continuing into 2009.''

Introduced by CSI, e-Module is a low-cost, medium-power solar panel product built with 100% upgraded metallurgical silicon (UMG).

Additionally, CSI will have an exhibit open to the public at Intersolar North America in San Francisco, July 15-17, 2008 at Booth No. 9100, West Hall Level 3. This will be the U.S.'s premier international exhibition for photovoltaics, solar thermal technology and solar architecture. Coupled with SEMICON West, Intersolar North America will also attract a broad base of attendees in the complimentary markets of semiconductor and nano-electronics manufacturing and development.

First Reserve Corporation Completes acquisition of Gamesa Solar and Ener3

First Reserve Corporation, the leading private equity firm specializing in the energy industry, has completed the acquisition of Gamesa Solar, the leading solar energy company in Spain, for a total consideration of €261 million. Together with the acquisition in Italy of Ener3,which has an established track record of designing and building photovoltaic power plants, First Reserve has created a European renewable energy group with the ability to deliver solar capacity of up to 400MW in Southern Europe over the next four years. The group expects that two thirds of this capacity will be delivered to customers, on a turnkey project basis, while the remaining capacity will be developed on its own account.

Paolo Pietrogrande, who will become CEO of the new group said: “Gamesa Solar has delivered 40MW of photovoltaic projects and with an additional 50MW to be completed within 2008 is a major solar developer and turn-key contractor. Its leading position in the Spanish market provides an excellent foundation to exploit the attractive solar development opportunities that exist in Southern Europe and the Mediterranean. Over the next four years we will invest €600 million into developing renewable energy generation assets. Our international team has relevant experience in development, construction and operation of wind, small hydro, biogas and solar based power generation. We are delighted that 20 senior managers will be part owners of the new group, reflecting their commitment to its success.”

Mr Pietrogrande previously held positions as CEO of Enel GreenPower, Chairman of Atmos Holding and a director of Trinergy Plc, and has an established track record of successfully leading renewable energy companies.

Antonio Cavallè, who will become Managing Director of Gamesa Solar and has led the company to its current leadership position in Spain, added: “Combining the leading Spanish solar energy business with an established Italian renewable developer and engineer paves the road to further commercial growth in the most promising European market.”

Canadian Solar Expands In Eutope

JIANGSU, China, Nov. 16 /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Canadian Solar Inc. ("the Company'', or ''CSI'') (Nasdaq: CSIQ) announced that it has signed a new contract with German City Solar Group to deliver 60MW of solar modules for a series of solar power station projects in Spain. Shipment will start immediately. Installations are expected to be completed by the Summer of 2008.

CSI has recently completed the delivery of 11.7 MW solar modules to City Solar for three large-scale solar power projects in Germany. The new 60 MW contract will expand the collaborations between the two companies from Germany to Spain, one of the fastest growing and strategically most important solar markets in the world.

CSI expects to introduce its PC200 new module type with City Solar. This new module product is capable of delivering 200-240W of output per unit and is specially designed to promote the maximum performance of City Solar's state- of-arts solar tracker systems.
